Project Progress
On Aug 4, 2026, US company Cove Kaz Capital Group LLC has hired three global engineering firms — DRA Global, ERM, and Knight Piésold — to carry out the definitive feasibility study (DFS) for its Northern Katpar tungsten project in Kazakhstan. The project is held by Severniy Katpar LLP, in which Cove Kaz holds a 70% controlling stake.
Feasibility Study Initiation
The DFS is intended to support the final investment decision and meet the standard due diligence requirements of potential financing partners, including the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM), and other US institutional financing entities and commercial partners. The DFS will interface with front-end engineering design, followed by detailed engineering, project construction, commissioning, and commercial operations.
