Leadership from PT Solder Tin Andalan Indonesia (STANIA), PT Arsari Tambang Aryo Djojohadikusumo, and Singaporean firm Asahi convened at STANIA’s Batam site on September 11, 2026, to execute a memorandum of understanding. The agreement unites STANIA director An Sudarno, PT Arsari president Arsari Tambang, and Asahi general manager Vincent Kho to coordinate integrated operations in tin refining and alloy preparation.
The partnership is structured to embed Indonesian tin production directly into global electronics supply networks. By linking upstream extraction with specialized downstream processing, the companies aim to increase regional value capture in solder paste and semiconductor packaging materials while decreasing dependence on foreign finishing hubs.
This arrangement reflects Indonesia’s broader policy pivot toward retaining higher-margin metallurgical activities within its borders. As industrial demand for tin continues to track closely with consumer electronics cycles and green technology deployment, enhanced domestic processing infrastructure may gradually reshape export compositions and consolidate Southeast Asia’s position in critical mineral value chains.
