Heavy Penalty for Violating Coal Mine
On August 5, 2026, the Ningxia Emergency Management Department confirmed a coal mine safety production report. According to the report, a coal mine in the region had organized production underground in excess of designated staffing limits, constituting an illegal act. In accordance with the law, the department imposed an administrative penalty of a 2 million yuan fine, ordered the mine to suspend production for rectification, and temporarily withheld its safety production license. The main person in charge of the mine was also fined 150,000 yuan. Following regulations on safety production reporting rewards, the Ningxia Emergency Management Department paid the whistleblower a reward of 300,000 yuan. It was learned that since the beginning of this year, the Ningxia Emergency Management Department has been improving its reward measures for safety production reports and broadening online and offline reporting channels, mobilizing frontline coal mine workers and the broader community to participate in coal mine safety supervision.
