TG Metals has published the first mineral resource estimate for the Burmeister spodumene deposit at its Lake Johnston project, totaling 6.7 million tonnes at 1.2% lithium oxide. The resource is being evaluated with the direct shipping ore (DSO) market in mind, and preliminary metallurgical test work indicates that simple ore sorting could yield a DSO spodumene product grading approximately 1.5% lithium oxide.
The company said the mining lease application for Burmeister is underway and it plans further resource definition drilling in the third quarter of 2026. Upcoming core drilling is intended to generate DSO samples for potential offtake partners, with the goal of advancing Burmeister toward first production and strengthening TG Metals' position among regional lithium developers. The announcement provides the market with a clearer picture of the project's near-term scale and potential feed for DSO customers.
