On August 4, 2026, according to Vietnamese broadcaster VTV, after more than ten years of R&D, Vietnam successfully produced aluminum ingots for the first time in 2026 using molten salt electrolysis. This marks Vietnam's first completion of the full industry chain loop from bauxite and alumina to metallic aluminum, laying the foundation for developing downstream processing industries and enhancing economic autonomy.
