Project Progress

On August 2, Western Mining disclosed development progress for the Yulong and Chating copper mines. The Yulong Phase III project is expected to start production at the end of 2026, raising processing capacity to 30 million tonnes per year and copper metal capacity to 180,000-200,000 tonnes per year. The Phase IV project is planned to increase processing capacity to 45 million tonnes per year, with copper metal capacity of approximately 270,000-300,000 tonnes per year.

The Chating copper polymetallic deposit has identified copper metal resources of 1.75 million tonnes (at 0.31%) and gold resources of 248 tonnes (at 0.43 g/t). Field drilling and geological sampling were completed in May 2026, with a reserve verification report planned for end-2026. In 2027, the company aims to complete exploration-to-mining conversion procedures and prepare a development and utilization plan before starting construction. The construction period is about 3 years, with a target of completion and commissioning at the end of 2030.

Production Capacity Plan

In 2025, the company produced 168,000 tonnes of mined copper, of which 152,000 tonnes came from the Yulong copper mine.
