Zimplats Holdings Limited said on Aug. 14, 2026 that finished metal production from all platinum group metals and base metals rose sharply in the quarter ended June 30, 2026, following the completion of smelter maintenance and the processing of concentrate inventory accumulated during the shutdown. Platinum output climbed 176% quarter on quarter to 97,950 ounces, palladium rose 183% to 84,035 ounces, gold gained 174% to 10,570 ounces, and rhodium advanced 182% to 9,058 ounces.
Total 6E metal production reached 213,190 ounces for the quarter, up 179% from the prior quarter and 14% higher year on year. Nickel and copper output also staged a strong recovery during the period. The rebound underscores how the maintenance-driven slowdown in the earlier quarter was a temporary supply constraint, with the restart now restoring normal metal flows from Zimplats' Zimbabwe operations.
